MARK MORGANELLI

Mark Morganelli, a jazz musician, promoter, and educator, is the founder and Executive Director of Jazz Forum Arts, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit based in Tarrytown, NY. Below are key aspects of Morganelli’s biography.


Morganelli was born on May 15, 1955, in Chincoteague, VA. He is a 1977 graduate of Bucknell University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Morganelli led the Bucknell Jazz and Rock Ensemble, bringing the group to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival, in July 1976. Morganelli began playing the trumpet and flugelhorn at age 9 and studied with Bennett Lentczner.

EDDIE MONTEIRO

Eddie Monteiro is an internationally recognized musician and educator with more than 30 years of musical performance in classical, jazz, dance, theater, cabaret, and choral ensembles. He won several accordion championships as a youth and was also the youngest honoree elected to the American Accordionist’s Hall of Fame. The musician recently returned from Italy where he was performing and teaching.

CHARLEY KRACHY

Charley Krachy began playing the saxophone at age ten. In 1981 he began a three-year association with jazz saxophonist Lenny Popkin, and in 1984 he began a thirteen-year association with pianist Connie Crothers, protégé of Lennie Tristano, where he continued his studies.

BILLY STEIN

Billy Stein has performed and recorded with a wide range of eclectic artists including jazz saxophonist/arranger Sahib Shihab, Latin pianist/arranger Joel Blanco, the rock group The Coasters, free-jazz drummer Rashid Bakr, and many others. Recordings as a leader include “Hybrids” (Barking Hoop).
